KAREN MURRAY

Karen Murray is a versatile artist working across a variety of creative disciplines, including mixed media, painting, textiles, pyrography and clay.

Her ceramic work ranges from delicate bone china and porcelain vessels to large sculptural pieces.

Karen works mainly in conceptual series which allows her the opportunity to explore different concepts and media thus maintaining a unique range of diverse, fresh and eclectic narratives.

The work, which inspires her to quirky or fantastical interpretation, is often times inspired by the flora and fauna of the natural environment. 

After a long standing career in the word of Film and Television spanning almost 30 years, traversing multiple facets of Art Department and Special Effects, Karen returned to study formally at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa graduating with a Bachelor of Technology in Ceramic Design.

Karen now lives in Wyee, Lake Macquarie / Hunter District.
