POLINA KARUSO

Polina was born in Saint-Petersburg, Russia and has lived and worked in Wollombi since 2009.

Life in the bush inspired Polina to start painting. She joined local Life Drawing and Ceramic Classes, which were run by local artist Amanda Davis. Amanda`s passion and dedication to Art influenced Polina and encouraged her to start professional art education. In 2018 Polina joined Hunter TAFE and in 2020 successfully completed her Diploma of Fine Arts.

Polina has developed a strong spiritual connection with the Australian land and it’s Indigenous culture. Through her Art she is searching for common grounds between the two cultures that she now belongs to.
